About Emily

Emily Goodson is an author, speaker, and former HR leader transforming how we think about confidence, connection, and workplace culture.

Her unique perspective stems from a brain injury she experienced at age 8, which resulted in partial paralysis on the left side of her body. This experience instilled in her profound resilience and a lifelong commitment to changing how we talk about disability, leadership, and personal growth.

Emily's journey is one of self-discovery and advocacy. Her consulting work spans organizations from startups to major production companies, where she focuses on disability representation and building healthier, more emotionally intelligent workplace cultures. She draws on both personal and professional experiences to help individuals embrace their authentic selves and support teams in creating environments where everyone can thrive.

In her first book, Dating Disability, publishing in fall 2025, Emily explores self-confidence, intimacy, and emotional intelligence through the lens of her own life. Her creative work also includes a feature in the Los Angeles Times and collaborations with Disability Rights Now and the Bold Beauty Project.

Recognized as a Top 25 Emerging Culture Creator by Culture Amp, Emily is known for her ability to spark meaningful change. Her voice is a compelling force in today’s evolving conversations around identity, belonging, and connection.
